About the Project

In Riverside, Nairobi, Vivace Dermatology and Wellness Centre is dedicated to providing healthy and effective rejuvenation solutions. Vivace engaged a contractor for their new clinic.

The contractor and the architect sought to push the boundaries of contemporary design, giving each space a unique vibe, with lighting solutions being paramount.

Each space was also to have smart automation, personalised audio, automated curtains and automation sensors.

The Partnership: More than Lighting

To uphold the architect’s vision, the contractor sought a reliable partner. Vintage Lighting and its sister company, Incredible Collection, are recognised leaders in their respective fields. The contractor recognised the enhanced project deliverability that would result from leveraging the combined skills and close cooperation between these two entities. Vintage Lighting emerged as the ideal collaborator, providing essential products and support that transformed the clinic into a modern, innovative commercial space.

The contractor notes, “Vintage designed the lighting solution with precision using software, simulated the design for accuracy, and delivered the lighting and automation systems on time and within budget.”

Vintage Lighting’s commitment to the client’s desires led them to proactively engage new suppliers, ensuring all specifications were met and products were delivered promptly

More than Automation

The contractor went beyond basic automation to create a serene environment for Vivace’s clients and staff.

The clinic features advanced smart technology designed for maximising relaxation and well-being.

Smart lighting, central to the design, provides dimmability, tunable white light, and circadian rhythm tracking for ultimate comfort.

Low-glare and indirect lighting techniques such as wall washing, minimises discomfort. Voice control is also available to Vivace as an affordable future upgrade.

Smart curtains in key areas were provided to manage daylight and provide privacy.

For safety, smoke sensors offer remote notifications.

A local control panel ensures uninterrupted automation, regardless of internet connectivity.

Incredible Collection provided the essential expertise for the delivery and configuration of the smart automation system.

Audiophile Gear – Music to the Ears

The contractor prioritised a personalised, centrally managed music system with mobile and computer control. This led to the need for a multi-zone amplifier supporting at least six zones and fourteen speakers. Working together, the contractor and Incredible Collection located and validated a specialised amplifier, exceeding specifications. The client approved an upgrade to an eight-zone, eight-source, sixteen-channel amplifier, allowing for independent audio streaming (Spotify, Bluetooth, Airplay) across eight rooms. High-quality in-ceiling speakers, selected for their exceptional sound in, were integrated to provide a superior listening experience.
